Religous Retirement Fund Collection - Nov. 5 and 6
Nov 4, 2016
St. Bridget of Kildare Parish will be taking part in the 2016 Religious Retirement Fund collection this weekend, Nov. 5-6. Archbishop Carlson is making the appeal on behalf of retired religious who have spent their lives in serving our schools, hospitals, parishes, St. Vincent de Paul chapters and other ministries.
The Archdiocese of St. Louis is blessed with more than 2,200 consecrated men and women religious who are instruments of the merciful love of Jesus Christ in our midst. About half of these sisters, brothers and priests are more than 70 years of age. They are the teachers, nurses, social workers and administrators who have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of St. Louisans. They continue to spend their lives in loving service and fruitful prayers and suffering offered for the Body of Christ.
The Retirement Fund for Religious is collected in our parishes on the first weekend of November. This annual appeal gives Catholics in St. Louis the opportunity to say "thanks" to these men and women and to help the congregations caring for their many needs, especially the escalating costs of retirement.
Your gift for the retired religious is welcome at any time. You may send it to:
