Parish School of Religion
St. Bridget of Kildare Parish School of Religion (PSR) Program
St. Bridget of Kildare is committed to providing a strong religious education for all parish families. For families who have children attending the public school system we offer PSR, Parish School of Religion.
What is PSR?
Our Parish School of Religion exists to support parents in their role as the primary educators of their children. Our catechists are a group of dedicated people from St. Bridget of Kildare Parish, willing to share their time and talents with the children who are enrolled in our PSR.
We offer religious instruction for children in first grade through eighth grade for children not attending a Catholic School. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. throughout the school year. We use the textbook series, Be My Disciples, published by RCL Benzinger.
In second grade, children prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and their First Communion. Eighth graders prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
We give thanks for God’s many blessings and look forward to the privilege of teaching your children about our Roman Catholic faith. For more information and to enroll your children, please contact Mrs.Michele Geatley, PSR coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Your child/ren are continuing their Faith Journeys you started for them when you brought them to be baptized. Acknowledging you, the parent, as the primary educators for your child/ren, we have put together opportunities for you to collaborate with us in preparing your child/ren for the Sacraments. Instruction being a key component in preparing for the Sacraments, we have scheduled a makeup session for those who are unable to make the scheduled meetings. Please plan now to make sure you the parent, a Godparent, or grandparent is able to attend the meeting.
Thank you for your support and cooperation. Please let us know if we can assist you in any way.
